Conditions We Treat
Personalized Care for Complex Mental Health and Chronic Pain Conditions
Living with a mental health condition or chronic pain can affect every aspect of your life - from emotional well-being and relationships to physical health and everyday activities. Conventional treatments help many people, but others continue to experience symptoms despite appropriate care.
At Wellhaven Health Collective, our approach begins with understanding your history, previous treatments, current challenges, and goals. We provide individualized evaluations to determine whether ketamine infusion therapy may be appropriate for certain difficult-to-treat conditions.
-
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Depression can affect energy, motivation, concentration, sleep, relationships, and overall well-being. Ketamine has demonstrated relatively rapid antidepressant effects in some patients, although individual outcomes vary.
Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD)
When depression persists despite multiple appropriate treatment attempts, additional options may be considered.
Research suggests ketamine can reduce depressive symptoms in some patients with treatment-resistant depression; the duration of benefit varies.
Bipolar Depression
Bipolar depression may involve persistent low mood, fatigue, and loss of interest. Ketamine is being studied as a potential option in carefully selected patients. Psychiatric assessment and appropriate mood-stabilizing care are important because of the risk of switching into mania or hypomania.
-
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Persistent, excessive worry can affect sleep, concentration, and physical comfort. Ketamine is under investigation for patients whose anxiety symptoms continue despite established care.
Social Anxiety Disorder
Intense fear of judgment or embarrassment may interfere with relationships, social activities, and work. Small studies suggest ketamine may temporarily reduce symptoms in some people, but long-term evidence remains limited.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
PTSD may involve intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, and heightened alertness. Ketamine has been studied for potential symptom reduction but is not a replacement for established trauma-focused therapies.
-
OCD involves intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors or mental rituals that can disrupt daily life. Early research suggests ketamine may temporarily reduce obsessive symptoms in some individuals, but evidence remains
preliminary. Exposure and response prevention (ERP) remains a central evidence-based treatment.
-
Chronic Pain
Persistent pain can affect mobility, sleep, mood, and quality of life. Ketamine has been investigated for selected chronic pain conditions, with benefits depending on diagnosis and individual circumstances.
Neuropathic Pain and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
Nerve-related pain may involve burning, tingling, shooting sensations, or unusual sensitivity. Ketamine infusions have been studied in certain difficult-to-treat neuropathic pain conditions, including CRPS, but the quality of evidence and duration of benefit vary.
-
Substance Use Disorders
Researchers are studying ketamine, sometimes alongside psychotherapy, for alcohol and other substance use disorders. This remains investigational; ketamine carries misuse and dependence risks and should not replace established addiction treatment.
Our Approach to Your Care
Meaningful care begins with listening. We consider each patient's symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, and personal goals to support informed treatment decisions. Ketamine is not appropriate for everyone and cannot guarantee a particular outcome. Our commitment is compassionate, evidence-informed care that recognizes the person beyond the diagnosis.
Every patient deserves to feel heard. Every patient deserves to feel known. And every patient deserves thoughtful, individualized care.
